Guar Gum Powder (Food Grade)
The primary use of Guar gum is as a food additive. Food additives play a vital role in today's bountiful and nutritious food supply. Legally it refers to any substance the intended use which results or may be reasonably be expected to result-directly or indirectly-in its becoming a component or otherwise affecting the characteristics of any food. This definition includes any substance used in the production, processing, treatment, packaging, transportation or storage of food. Additives have been used for many years to preserve, flavor, blend, and thicken foods, and have played  an important role in reducing serious nutritional deficiencies among people.

Guar Gum Powder (Industrial Grade)
Textile Industry
Processed guar gum is widely used in textile industry as a thickening agent for printing dyes.

Paper Industry
Galactomannans replace or supplement the natural hemi celluloses in paper bonding.

Oil well drilling
Guar gum as a water-soluble polymer has found a broad range of applications in the production of petroleum. It serves one or more functions, such as Water-loss control, Viscosity control, Flocculation, Suspension, Turbulent friction Reduction or Mobility control

The use of guar gum as a suspending agent for sand in drilling mud and in fracturing fluids led to the discovery that guar solutions have lower friction than water. Guar has become a widely used material for both industrial and experimental friction reduction because of the robust characteristics of its molecule, which tend to prevent degradation due to high shear forces. When using the optimum concentration, the horsepower required for the fracturing operation is reduced by a factor of over five.

Mining
Guar gum is used in froth flotation of postash as an auxiliary reagent, depressing gangue minerals, which might be clay, talc, or shale. Guar gum is also used as a flocculants (settling agent) to concentrate ores or tailings in the mining industry. In practice, slimes and tailings from ore beneficiation processes are concentrated so that the water can be reused and the solids easily processed.

Major  Common  Applications :
Guar Gum is generally used as a thickener, binder and stabiliser for below listed industries. -
2. Industrial Uses
a. Oil Drilling - Works as a stimulant & friction reducer.
b. Textile printing - Acts as thickening agent for dyes.
c. Paper - Increases strength decreases porosity.
d. Mining - Increases yield; filter aid.
e. Explosives - Gelling agent.
f. Tobacco - Binding and strengthening.
e. Coal Mining - Friction reducer, binding.
g. Photography - Gelling and hardening.

3. Pet Food
Used in preparation of pet foods. There are number of qualities of guar powder based on mesh sizes, viscosities, etc. Some broad specifications of most common varieties are given below. These are only broad specifications and can vary and can be varied. Some tailor made qualities can also be manufactured according to buyers’ specific requirements.

Applications for guar gum in food differ from country to country.

In soft cheeses, the use of guar increases the yield of curd solids and gives curds of a soft, compact, tender texture with a separated whey that is very limpid. Guar gum has important uses in frozen foods because it provides hydration and water-binding properties. In cake mixes guar gum allows single-step mixing procedures, reduced batter mixing time, less crumbling tendency in finished cake, easy application of frostings, and greater moisture retention and pronged shelf life. In baked goods, adding guar gum solutions to dough while kneading gives increased yields as well as giving the dough a greater resiliency and a drier, less flabby appearance. It is also used as a binder and lubricant in the manufacture of sausage products and related stuffed meat products. In canned meat products and pet foods, guar gum allows reducing of the bumping tendency during the cooking of the meat, increase in the ease of pumping of the cooked product between the kettle and filling vat, and reduction of splashing and spilling of contents while filling. In dressings and sauces guar gum is used as a thickener because of its ability to disperse in cold water, its compatibility with highly acidic emulsions, and its ability to add viscosity. Guar gum is also used in the beverage industry, specially in fruit juices as a stabilizer.

Examination of the list of ingredients of most formulated foods will reveal guar gum as an ingredient. For the food industry, our products  and  may be used, depending on the viscosifying, emulsifying, water binding, or stabilizing strength required.

Cosmetics & Pharmaceuticals
Guar gum is used to thicken various cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. It is also used to bind and to disintegrate compressed tablets and pellets. It is also used as a mild laxative.

Explosives
Guar gum is used in the explosives industry as a waterproofing agent. Its ability to hydrate in saturated solutions of ammonium nitrate causes it to be widely used in this industry. For this purpose DFS-33 is the most commonly used guar gum products.

Guar gum forms viscous colloidal dispersions when hydrated in cold water. Its viscosity is measured using a rotations, shear-type viscometer such as the Brookfield Viscometer. The solution is prepared by adding dry gum to an agitated tank of water. The guar gum is permitted to thicken and hydrate for a certain time, and the viscosity is measured.
